Uni Watch on Mets camo jerseys proceeds

mets 2014 camo jersey

Over at Uni Watch, Paul mentioned that he emailed the Mets to find out if any of the camo jersey sales proceeds go to a charity or foundation.

The response from a spokesperson: “The Mets donate and will continue to donate to numerous Veterans charities.”

That’s a classic non-answer, so I followed up and said, “Yeah, but I was asking specifically about the revenue from the camouflage jersey sales. Any comment on that?” I received no further response.

via Uni Watch.

So that’s that.

At a personal level I had emailed some Mets Insiders recently (quite possibly the same folks Paul interacts with) and they haven’t replied (as of 9:15 this morning) which is atypical.  I assume they are busy with the Veterans Day stuff and today’s food drive.  (I’m not being jerky, that’s my actual assumption.)

I’m more bothered by the long tail on the M.  That phenomenon appeared a lot last decade but it had gone away during thereign of Kevin Kierst and the current uniform set.  I am surprised to see it return.

Anyways, I continue to love Uni Watch and they sent a lot of traffic over here yesterday.  Once again Paul, much thanks!
