Among the goals here at MP is to discuss the Mets (especially the fan perspective) but not mess the Mets up. Thus, I have this weird code of honor where I don’t share pre-sale codes or secret codes unless the Mets would like me to.
So, for discussion purposes, there is a promotion out there now (see semi-image below). As I have stated in the past, I do not in any way think the Mets are bad people for discounting tickets. We all want MORE discounted tickets, right?
However, this sort of thing is why I didn’t renew my partial plan.
My proposed solution is that if someone buys in advance and the Mets later decide to sell cheaper that the “loyal” person should be offered a similar credit for the following year. Or maybe food/merch credit. Or Skybox Day. Something. That way the Mets can sell unused inventory, like airlines do, but not leave the “loyals” feeling like someone got a better deal.
I can understand if and why the Mets do not use this suggestion, but at a personal level the net effect is you took a guy like me who had a plan for like 6 or 7 years and so far has bought zero tickets in 2015. (This specific option wouldn’t be relevant to me since I had a Saturday plan.)
I dunno, someone smarter than me can figure this out. Comments are open. Media Goon says you guys like comments.
