Matt Harvey for Shutdown

Looks like Shannon was right about The Harvey News Cycle. I hate saying he’s right about anything. What happened to The Dark Knight? Did his cowl get died pink by the Mad Hatter?

Harvey, who has thrown 166 innings in 25 starts, said he always considered 180 innings to be the limit, which is the number team doctors and Harvey’s surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, told his agent, Scott Boras.

“This is a doctor’s decision, not my opinion,” Boras said, according to the New York Post. “The peril of ignoring that decision rests with the team. I am just the messenger, not the doctor.”

Harvey told reporters he wasn’t particularly sure if the 180-inning limit included the playoffs, but said he trusts Boras and Andrews’ advice.

I am sitting with a whole bunch of Mets fans right now pissed off about the innings limit and Harvey who is supposed to be a gamer and all about winning and winning swagger backing off from pitching.

There is some conjecture that Harvey might be hurting and is using the 180 innings as an excuse. Dude if you are hurting, you should have just told the team and they would have rested you. You were against the 6 man rotation and skipping starts and now you punk out.

This is going to be ugly.
