Mets randomness: Kiss-Cam, T7L Presale, Scalpers etc

mr. met kisses mrs. met

A few random things popped up today so I thought I’d comment

Kiss-Cam.  So I read the Mets have decided not to make homophobic jokes on the kiss-cam and that the organization aims to be inclusive.  That’s great on both ends.

However it got me wondering if the Mets have ever put a same sex couple on the Kiss-Cam.  Most people thought no, one person tweeted me they have.  I don’t know the answer.  Just wondering.  Anyway, in the spirit of inclusion, they should.

Then someone asked me how the camera operator would know someone is  part of a same sex couple.  I don’t know.  How do they know someone is part of an opposite sex couple.

The Kiss-Cam only exists to give the sales department something to sell.  Nobody goes to the game for the Kiss-Cam.  I don’t want to get rid of it, but I’d encourage the Mets to find a way to be inclusive, perhaps by setting up a spot where people interested in being on the Kiss-Cam could register.  Seems solvable if the Mets are truly interested.

The 7 Line Army Pre-Sale.  No good deed goes unpunished and my spidey-sense told me this would only result in unnecessary grief for Darren.  Logically I get why tickets appeared to be gone one millisecond after 2pm, emotionally it was rather annoying.  I was RIGHT IN, as were other people, but fund not even a single.  Again, small amount of tickets, big number of codes (26,000 I think Darren said) and high demand.  Don’t give the guy grief.  The idea was cool….except for…..

Jerkyfaces scalping 7 Line Army tickets.  Folks are showing that T7L tickets are going for three times face.  Dude if you really need $200 that badly I feel for you.   Totally uncool, and hopefully karma will be a bitch to you Mr. Scalper.  This was not the intent of that section.
