Mets Opening Day Tickets Just Under $100 Following World Series Bid in 2015

Mets fans, rejoice – the reigning National League Champs are just days away from kicking
off their 2016 campaign in Kansas City. And while their World Series foes got
the last laugh back in November, the Amazin’s will
hope to shake the ghosts of last autumn off with a strong start on the road.

They’ll return to Citi Field to play the Phillies in their home opener on Friday, April
7. For those still searching for tickets, fans can find the best ticket deals
on Razorgator.
Phillies vs. Mets tickets for Opening Day start at $89 per seat.

The deals don’t end with just tickets. We get it – sometimes you wouldn’t wish a crowded
train to the Mets game on your worst enemy (looking at you, Phillies fans) – so
taking the car out to Citi Field is understandable, but don’t get caught up in
the hassle of waiting in line and paying big parking prices at the ballpark lots. Parkwhiz.com offers the best deals on independent
Citi Field parking. That way you’ll have more money to spend on $13 domestic beers
at the stadium.

Even though New York lost the World Series in five games to Kansas City, the season was a
smashing success. The Mets won the National League East by seven games and
recorded 90 wins for the first time since the 2007 season. In the playoffs, the
Mets triumphed over the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games before sweeping the
red-hot Chicago Cubs.

The 2016 roster is loaded with young studs and experienced veterans chomping at the bit
to make another run at the World Series. New York’s lineup looks very similar
to the one that they trotted out last season with the exception of the middle
infield. Postseason hero Daniel Murphy left via free agency and signed with the
Nationals, but New York added Neil Walker, a player that may prove to be a
slight upgrade over Murphy. Walker, a plus-defender and a powerful bat, brings
a different skill set to the table. At shortstop, Asdrubal
Cabrera is an upgrade over the revolving door New York had last season.

While Walker and Cabrera are upgrades, re-signing Yoenis Cespedes was the biggest boon for New York. Cespedes was great during the second half of the season, so
fans can hope for a big full-season performance. New York should be able to
score runs at a higher clip this season, but its pitching staff must continue
to dominate.

New York’s rotation boasts three of the Top 20 pitchers in baseball. Matt Havey,
Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard
anchor the top of the rotation while Bartolo Colon
and Steven Matz round out the back-end. Zack Wheeler
should return by mid-season, giving New York the option of a six-man rotation
or bumping Colon back to the bullpen. Closer Jeurys Familia was tremendous last season, notching 43 saves and
registering 86 strikeouts in 73 innings. While the Phillies weren’t great last
season, the rivalry between New York and Philadelphia is always intense. Expect
Opening Day to bring that patented competitiveness to Flushing next week.
