Mets Police Morning Laziness: The 1st Place Mets #metsfansunited

SLACKISH REACTION:   The Mets are in first place!  The Mets look good!  Nobody boycotting nothin’ this week!   You need to stop running your car engine in Donuts Chains Parking Lots when it is 45 degrees out!  No game tonight (weeeeeiiirrrrddd) so you can play Gran Turismo between soccer games.

People are very excited about one win over the Nationals.  It was a very nice win.  But remain calm newspaper (see Not Linking section).

That being said, good starts really help a team to have a good season.  I say this every April.  Have a bad April and it stresses the whole year.  Have a good April and you can absorb the eventual slump where you drop 3 of 4 because you look over your shoulder and the next closest team is still 5 back.   So Hooray Mets, and join the #MetsFansUnited 2.0 movement where we all cheer together (frontrunner comedians included).

The Economic Development Corp. announced last Thursday that it estimates the 2018 Opening Day game at Citi Field has an economic impact of $7.9 million for the city.  Queens Chronicle with the story.

I did a long rant about the twitter feeds of SNY, The Beat and the Mets.  Looks like the Mets read it and just decided to become a Times Square Billboard.  This is a lot of monetization in one feed.  But as I wrote, that makes more sense than spoilers.

NOT LINKING:  “The Nats  heard the message the Mets just sent.”  Stop.  You’re embarrassing yourself.  That reads like a college kid’s blog.  Even the AAIMBR+ doesn’t do this.

Everyone else will write about Tebow hitting a HR off the first pitch in Binghamton.  Whatever.
