What kind of leash does Wags have Mickey Hodges on to manage the Mets?

Here’s a question.

How long will Wags allow Mickey Hodges to drive Wags’ shiny new car without results?  Mick is in year 2 of what is reportedly a three year deal.

Let’s look at last year.

I think everyone would be thrilled with 17-10 on May 1.  No doubt.

What if by June 1 that turned into 27-28 and 6 back.  I know that sounds crazy, but teams can actually do that?   Would Wags have confidence that things would get better?

Surely being 14.5 back by July 1 would be a death-knell for Mickey.

So my thought is that there is not much rope at all.  I think Mickey needs to keep this team above .500 and climbing, by that I mean the old Joe Torre philosophy of 5 over, then 10 over, then 15 over….and not being like 30-28.

I think 31-40 on June 20th would be begging for Riggleman time.  Unless of course CAA reps some managers.
