I don’t know what the hell Gil Hodges is doing. Instead of starting our best pitcher Koosman, he rolls out Jim McAndrew. The Mets spot the guy a 4 run lead and he hands 3 right back. SMH.
Then we have to kill the bullpen and use McGraw for 6 innings in relief. If you ask me, McGraw should be in the rotation. I like his stuff a lot, and he can clearly give you length (unlike McAndrew.)
The kid Ryan (I can’t believe he’s still only 22) looked good in the closers role. Maybe that’s where the Mets should use him instead of using him as a starter. His stuff translates better in short bursts.
OK 1-1 against an expansion team and Gentry goes tomorrow. I’m not sure if I can take another one of these 3 hour games. (3:06)
