Mets play two straight quick games!

Hey the Mets may be single-handedly fixing baseball.  Let’s look at the last two Times Of Game.

Friday Night  – 2:21!

Saturday –  2:10.  Two Ten!

It’s almost impossible to play in two ten as there at least 16 half inning breaks, so that alone is 32 minutes.

Two Ten!!!

Thursday wasn’t too bad either with a 2:49.

What was really interesting to me, and made me realize I have lived a long time, is the way Gary Cohen was calling the 9th inning.  He was calling the potential of a complete game as if it were some no-hitter level event.  Like way too excited for something that used to happen regularly if not be expected.  Ron Darling had seven CGs in 1988 if you want a random sample.

Anyway this was a good reminder that baseball used to be better before all the silly relief pitching slowed the game to a crawl and ruined it.  I can even deal with Home Run Ball (Homers and Strikeouts and no action) if we can do it in Two And A Half.

Today is a nice sunny day.  Remember that radio is a thing and under no circumstances should you sit inside watching baseball on a nice day.
