Mets Police Morning Laziness: blogger discovers Al Leiter was a pretty good Mets player

Welcome to The Morning Laziness where I save you the trouble of reading useless articles on other sites.   As an example, Tim Tebow will play for the Philippines in the World Baseball Classic qualifiers.  Sure you might be slightly intrigued right now, but before you read that sentence did you care about Tebow? No.  Did you care about the WBC? No. Did you even know the Philippines had a team? No.  So look at how much time I saved you.  Now you can get on with your day!

“My advice to the fans is just stay positive.” – that’s some shill fan probably who isn’t down with The Boycott.   Oh wait..it’s this guy…

…Jeff Wilpon’s pal Mike Piazza.  They were out golfing the other day and Mike was around camp yesterday and the reporters asked him about the sale and Mike was all positive and stuff.  He won’t be joining your boycott, sorry.  He also isn’t buying the team, after all you all think A-Rod is.

Looks like Mets Baseball Operations Expert Al Leiter and I agree on something. The Mets tweeted a picture of Doc Gooden (he and the Mets like each other again0, Piazza and Al and captioned it “Mets Legends” to which I replied “…and Al Leiter”

Al seems to agree.

I mentioned on twitter that I think of Al as a Yankee even though the stats don’t prove that to be the case. Surprisingly people did not disagree and some even AGREED – nobody ever agrees with me so I didn’t know what to do.

Al was a Met for seven seasons somehow?
Feels like two in my memory. He was a workhorse too and put up nice stats. I don’t know why none of it was recorded by my brain.

I apologize Al, looks like this one is all me. I don’t remember any of it, but it’s there on the page and it looks like you were pretty good.   It must have been that Fran Healy booth that made me doze off.
