Mets happen to sign congressman’s son to minor league deal.

I post this Stonecutters image all the time and most of the posts with it get ignored.  Like recently when I posted about the Mets kindly donating masks to the MTA.  I don’t think I got one comment.  I should just post pictures of Jeff McNeil’s dog and not even try.

Now gang…what do you suppose is motivating the Mets here?

Suozzi was an economics major at B.C. and received a degree last month. He was bypassed in last week’s amateur draft, and he got the maximum bonus allowed this year for a non-drafted player residing in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico.

Maybe it’s the Mets really good scouting department and they see a diamond in the rough.  Maybe Suozzi is the next Mike Piazza.  Hey, you never know.

I’m sure it’s a total coincidence what his father, Congressman Tom Suozzi does for a living.

Why own a baseball team?  Because baseball owners slash real estate developers get to play in the Elite New York game that you and I don’t have access to.

Anyway, ignore this post too.  Good job ESPN with the headline.  I hadn’t make the connection when I saw the Mets make this signing.
