Sandy Alderson plays everything close to the vest and nobody knows anything. Need an example, here’s Sports Illustrated from October 15th. Their headline, “Could Yankees’ Aaron Boone be Mets manager candidate?”
Could is a powerful word, SNY loves to use it in their garbage filler.
I was talking to a rival GM on Friday who opined that if the Yankees moved on from Aaron Boone, he would have a very easy time getting another job.
Why not the Mets? He is seasoned and polished in the New York market, a strong collaborator with the contemporary front office, and loved by players.
That article came out on a Friday. The Yankees announced Boone would be coming back on Tuesday. At least I admit my articles are filler.
