The Math: can the Mets win 90 games? After last year anything is possible!

Got a message from Anonymous (thanks A) regarding The Math.  This was from over the weekend so the numbers are slightly different now but the point is the same:

Time to break out the Mets Math again. 27-27. To get to 90-72 they need to run 63-45 the rest of the way. Not looking like they’re built for it.

Well, after being the founder of The Math religion and a big believer in The Math, the 2022 Mets have left me disillusioned.  There was absolutely no way they could blow the lead and not win the NL East.  And yet, the impossible has happened.

So, dear reader, I feel you, but I cannot do The Math ever again as the Mets somehow found a way.  Based on what I saw last year the Mets might go 93 and 15 the rest of the way.

Anyway, don’t worry about any of this.  Some idiot expanded the playoffs making the regular season meaningless.  Steve should tell Justin and Max to take the summer off and just sell tickets against Vulgar Pete hitting the 8th most home runs of all time (who gets excited about 60 HRs post 1995?).  Then they can hope to get hot for a month and steal a ring.
