Mets announce 2026 Schedule – new culture yet to be announced

The Mets who might squeak into the third Wild Card again (helluva jo Steve) or miss the playoffs and spend the off-season introducing the new amanegr and the new new new new new new culture of winning (third wild cards) both now and in teh future, have announced teh 2026 Schedule.  Unfortunately it comes with Francisco Lindor on the roster so I don’t plan on taking any of this in.

The Mets included some really bizarre choices for “highlights.”  The real highlight is the Mets visit Wrigley on a weekend for a change, but its in April not the summer boooo.

This has come out later than in previous seasons.  Some believe it was because MLB didn’t know the TV partners yet, so expect to see THAT announcement soon.

FLUSHING, N.Y., August 26, 2025 – The New York Mets today announced that the team will open the 2026 regular season at Citi Field on Thursday, March 26 vs. Pittsburgh where the Mets will celebrate the 2025 Third Wild Card with a banner. (This plan subject to change as the Mets didn’t sign enough pitching to deliver on this one.)   The team’s first homestand will continue Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 vs. Pittsburgh before a seven-game road trip in St. Louis and San Francisco from March 30 – April 5.

The Mets will host the Yankees at Citi Field for a three-game series Friday, May 15 – Sunday, May 17. The Amazins’ will travel to The Bronx for a three-game set against the Yankees, Friday, September 11 – Sunday, September 13.

Additional highlights of the 2026 home schedule include:

·       Cincinnati Reds: Memorial Day – Monday, May 25 – Wednesday, May 27  (WHY IS THIS A HIGHLIGHT? BECAUSE OF THEM SNAKING THE THIRD WILD CARD IN 2025? IS THIS A REVENGE SERIES)

·       Los Angeles Dodgers: Friday, July 24 – Sunday, July 26
