While I am logged in, I will explain why I don’t post much these days. There is of course the Mets current team being a combination of unlikable players (Lindor) and losing. That said, losing usually doesn’t bother me. I love the 2012 Mets because I liked the people that were Mets in 2012. David Stearns’ Band Of Randoms That Suck At Baseball….I have other things to do.
I enjoyed being a Casual Bandwagon Knicks Frontrunner and not worrying about what they wore, or a gimmick court, or if Taylor Swift is a “real fan.” Don’t know, don’t care. Casual.
The Knicks, unlike the Mets, also had likable players.
Now I am into the World Cup.
As I mentioned in April, the Knicks would give Steve Cohen a LOT of cover for this disaster. The WC might give him another month, especially uf USA goes deep.
But beyond all that, let’s talk about the reality of the modern internet.
15 years ago you went to a website, maybe Uni Watch, maybe this one. You could promote yourself on Facebook and Twitter.
Then Facebook gated posts unless you paid. But if you worked Twitter you could be seen.
Social ate the web, and people stopped going to websites.
Twitter became X and taht site got ruined. Posts don’t get seen.
And now even Google is focused on AI summarizing info rather than linking So say you wanted to know”what years did the Mets wear black” – instead of a link to Uni Watch or here, they will just summarize it.
So at some point…there’s no reason to write if things won’t be seen.
That allowed me to free myself. I write when I want, and I don’t when I don’t feel like I have anything to say. Today I want to tell you to read Uni Watch.
As for the lowercase. It’s stupid and it’s a gimmick. Which is the story of the 2020’s Steve Cohen Era Mets.
