Hey look, it’s the Mets.

Now, I checked and the Mets were HOME at Citi Field. They played as the HOME team (this wasn’t a wierdo makeup-game or something like when the Rays had to play in NYC).
The Mets, at home.
They are wearing jerseys that say NEW YORK.
Two questions.
- Why are the Mets wearing road jerseys, regularly, at home?
- And this is the more important question, one that should have been asked decades ago – Why don’t the Mets like their own uniforms?
Shouldn’t the Mets like to look like, you know, the Mets? Why not wear the traditional Mets uniform.
Aside from all the other points – you can’t see what it actually says because the New York isn’t colored in, or that it’s a road jersey – why don’t the Mets want to look like the Mets?
As for wearing a road jersey at home – or at least a city name jersey – they did do it ONCE in 2021 for the anniversary of 9/11. These were cool, for that occasion, and I don’t believe they ever sold a consumer version or i’d own one.

This is also a reminder that drop shadow sucks, and that the current road jerseys need the piping back.
As for the blue jerseys…..hey if you wanna wear blue, figure this out with Nike…

Or maybe this…
