New York activated Luis Castillo from the 15-Day Disabled List and optioned Ruben Tejada to Buffalo (AAA) of the International League.
The last time Jose Reyes, Luis Castillo, David Wright and Carlos Beltran all started in the same lineup was May 20, 2009 at Los Angeles.
The Mets are 41-36 when Jose Reyes starts and 8-7 when he doesn’t. In addition, the Mets are 30-9 this season when Reyes scores a run.
Doesn’t it seem like a long long time ago that Carlos Delgado was the first baseman and part of “the core” – he had 112 plate appearances last year!
