My Sandy Alderson quick reaction

I enjoyed Sandy.  Thought he was a million times smoother than Omar (I don’t care if he says ‘um’ like some pointed out)….but smooth on SNY is not the same as a World Series.

No changes to the ballpark = good.

Talk of being competitive worries me.  I don’t want competitive.  The 2007 and 2008 Mets were competitive.  The 2010 Mets were competitive into July.

Jeff, Sandy and (I think it was) Uncle Saul all wore yellow ties.  Fred didn’t, I forget what color his was.  Dave Howard wore orange.

What did you guys think?

  1. I’m not all that excited about Sandy Alderson. I’m happy that he’s not planning to make immediate changes to the ballpark dimensions, and that he’s being realistic about the Mets’ level of participation in this year’s free agent market.

Beyond that? Let’s see what you do, Sandy. I’m past the point of being won over by talk – you’ll have to do it with actions.

  2. Yeah,

he talked with a bit more ease than Omar used to, but i don’t get all the hype from metsfans on twitter.

I wanna see his first moves before i make a judgement and i did not like his statement about possibly dumping players like Castillo and Perez.

  3. He demonstrates the wisdom of an older man. He demonstrates comfort within an organizational setting of a military man. And in particular, he demonstrates some of the casual leadership qualities I’ve come to find in fighter pilots.

That doesn’t mean he’s going to get us to World Championships, but it does mean he’s practiced at being rational under fire.
