Name Mets Police HQ: Queens Contest

Ladies and Gentleman. It is time to name my new residence I will be upgrading to. Like I said in the earlier post announcing this contest, Shannon has place Mets Police HQ, and I now I want a cool name for my apartment.

I think I deserve a cool name for my place since I am  the defacto second in command here at MP. It could be a take of on MP:HQ, photography, comics, films, the Mets. Let’s see what you got guys. Maybe I will confer with Shannon on it but I doubt it. Let’s see what you got guys.

The winner gets a Man Up and Play Better T shirt. You have 48 hrs to get your entries in.  Post your entries in the comment section and I will pick the winner from there. So get cracking.

Here’s the shirt you can win. NO DARA is NOT INCLUDED.

Hey gang. Since Shannon has named his place Mets Police HQ, I also want a cool name for my new place that I just acquired. I feel you guys are pretty good with helping with content and can come up with something that fits. I would ask Shannon to help name it but he would try to name it Shannontopia or something ridiculous like that.

I haven’t quite figured out how I am going to run this contest, but I will give away a Man Up and Play Better shirt to the winner.

Sometime this week I will announce the rules and when the contest officially begins.

Help Piazza Get on The Pepsi Max Field of Dreams Team

Hey Mets fans, you surged in your votes to get Jose Reyes onto the NL All Star team, lets do this for Mike Piazza.

In Piazza, the Mets not only got an elite hitter in his prime, but the sort of player who made the team nationally relevant after a decade of false hope (Todd Hundley’s 41-homer season) and unfulfilled potential.

Finally, the Mets had a superstar to call their own, a hitter so feared that only two National Leaguers were intentionally walked more than he was the year he came to the Mets — Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire.

Thirteen years and countless memories later, Piazza could be suiting up in the blue and orange one more time, and you could be the one forced to choose between giving him a free pass and pitching to the greatest position player in Mets history.

From now through Aug. 31, vote up to 25 times a day for your favorite living legends and help create the Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams Team (click the link to vote). All-time greats have been nominated at each position, from catcher to reliever. For each ballot cast, you will be entered to win the chance to take on the winning Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams Team with 10 of your friends on your home turf next spring, surrounded by family, fans and media.

Piazza is the only Mets representative on the ballot and will face stiff competition from fellow catchers Johnny Bench and Carlton Fisk. But as any Mets fan knows, Piazza is a more than deserving candidate.

Come on let’s get a METS player on that team. Full story here.

Goon Morning to You

I figure I should do the Saturday morning MP post that Shannon usually does. Now I do not go to the unnamed donut chain like he does. I actually prefer to go to GoonBucks.

Shannon is still away and I am really shocked that there was no trade news that happened at all this week. Last night marked the return of David Wright to the team. He had two RBI doubles last night but also had two strikeouts.Unless Beltran gets traded today it seems like it will be a slow news day. If any of you have any content you wish to share hit me up at my email [email protected] or follow me on twitter @mediagoon. Thanks guys.

Shannon would be happy to know #28 was moved to first so he didn’t lose any playing time.
