I don’t get why my cousin Shannon is getting on fans that have stepped away from the team and have come back since they are doing well. There are a lot of fans that got fed up with the way the team has been managed and played over the last 7-8 years. So they are coming back to enjoy the team that has broken their hearts so many times in the past. I think they have watched and listened to the games over years via TV/radio/MLB app. I won’t give them crap for coming back to the team. Now if the boycott the team and billboard guys show up to the playoffs, I might poke fun at them about that. It’s funny how once a team is winning those guys have quieted down.
Now for you Shannon. Somehow now that the Mets are doing well you have become grumpier it seems. You don’t seem like you are enjoying the success of the team. Is it because the mission statement of the blog might happen? That you will pull a Bruce Wayne in The Dark Knight Rises? If the Mets win the World Series dressed well am I going to get a duffel bag with the coordinates of the Better then Wright’s Deck V.2 shark cave in a black duffel bag? Are you kind of upset that you might be in Paris at a cafe in Newark with Mrs. MP and @Lagranderusty is sitting at a another table notices you and gives you a knowing nod? I think you don’t want to end the blog as you know it and have it become Mediagoon’s Metspolice.
Since this blog started you have said consistently that you want to to see this become a Mets town again. You wanted to see Blue and Orange caps appear again in mass all over the city. Your wish looks like it might be coming to fruition.
The bandwagon fans are worse then the coming out of the fallout bunkers Mets fans have been hiding out in for years. They are starting to see it is safe to come out. Let’s show them the way. Remember you have said the drop shadows are cool because they are now retro as long as the players aren’t wearing it.
Embrace the fun. Go to a game or two before the end of the season. I won’t even bust your chops if you go to a playoff game. We as Mets fans and as bloggers have waited for this for years.
Injoy the floating feeling.
