Previously I wondered about this variant Mets logo, where the Y was on top of the N. Â Global Mets Blog found all sorts of variants: N over Y, interlaced, flat..you name it.
New York Mets Baseball Cards Week: John Maine 2010
I have decided that this shall be New York Mets baseball cards week. Â If you have some cool ones and would care to share, hit me up at [email protected]
I bought the Topps 2010 Series (series 1) for Junior, and man did it bring me back. Â So fun to go through and see what’s there.
We’ve long since established that I stink at taking photos with my iphone, but if you tilt your head and squint you’ll see that the back of John Maine’s card there includes a mention of injury. Â I wonder how many Mets have that note. Â Tomorrow, David Wright’s card.

Citi Field’s Ebbets Club renamed Champions Club
Peter who often sends me stuff dropped me this email ([email protected])…and I want to be perfectly clear that I’m just cribbing baseball fever here, good job outta them!
The “Ebbets Club” has been renamed the Champions Club. Â If you search the A to Z guide on Mets.com you’ll find the Champions Club is listed under E. Â Very interesting, it’s as if they are paying attention to criticism!
Shannon,
My friends at baseball-fever.com mention yesterday the Ebbets club has been renamed Champions club.
we hope the first base side can be for 1986 team and 3rd base side for 1969.
Champions Club – 1st Base and 3rd Base
Located on the Field Level and exclusive to Champions Club and Delta Club seat holders as well as Sterling Suite holders, the Champions Club, evocative of historic Ebbets Field, features high-end concessions, full bars, high-definition flat screen TV’s, and restrooms.

The Mets are doing a lot of good things.
Hopefully fixing those obstructions in the promenade could be the last piece to making citi field feel like home.

Another poor Mets fashion choice by Fred Wilpon
New readers to both Mets Police and my twitter feed @metspolice often ask me why I rail against the black so often.
Look at this picture. Â I’m not here to pick on Fred, but if the owner is going to walk around thinking this outfit looks good, we’re a long long way from the Treaty of Flushing (that’s wear the Mets ban black and I in return stop asking for pinstripes to return).
This photo is proof that the 2010 BP caps look horrible. Â That’s an MLB wide design, but it doesn’t mean that Fred has to wear one.
I walked by Modell’s this morning because I’m here to help. Â I understand Fred likes some black in his wardrobe – can someone run out and buy him this instead? Â And a traditional blue cap to go with it?
Photos of Citi Field on a lonely February Sunday
Jesse went by Citi Field yesterday. Take it away Jesse…
1. Went by CitiField today. Actually counted 410 feet with my feet to heel measurement (must of been close to accurate since I was at 60 by the time I reached pitching plate of Shea). Think I stayed in a straight line. Anyway where the red cement hits a corner think (probably a bit more to left away from rotunda) is where 410 centerfield wall was or pretty close. Dont think it be in new road they have there.
2. Can you ask on site if there is suppose to be 3 more banners? Kinda dumb if not. Looks incomplete. (yeah it really does. Â I wonder what will go there? Â Shannon)
3. Â Tried to see if I could see any changes but nothing. I know the bullpen is gutted from a previous pic I saw on another site. Saw nothing with bridge either with any wording of “Shea Bridge” but I guess I wouldnt being behind it.Banners look better there (but how many people see them?) than they do on outfield wall, where they looked cluttered. That 2006 one with some luck would say “World Champions”
4. Â Another picture of the paint job. Yawn. Well better than the prison looked of plain cinderblocks.
5. That beige area way on top should say “Home of New York Metropolitan Baseball Club” Would kind of offset the old Dodger stuff. Plus those TV screens along with Jackie Robinson highlights should also show great Mets highlights to kind of tie in the whole area.
Was kind of weird being there. Think in total there was 10 cars in parking lot and that was probably some workers doing work. (Hey maybe they are installing some new blue and orange outfield wall vinyl!!)
6. Nothing new from pics I saw previously posted on site. Tried to see if I could see anything from inside from old team store. Also no work on new Fan Walk (wanted to see my brick I purchased over winter)
Thanks Jesse! Â The posts that come from fan submissions are always my favorites. Â If you have anything cool please send to [email protected]
