Yes, New Era really has this many new caps…I’m gonna keep going until we get through them all. Â These are just the NEW ones…never mind the 50+ I did last year.
Tonight’s is not bad at all. Â It is the 47 Brand “Throwback Navy Franchise” – might pair up nice with your non-Mets civilian attire. Â You do own some stuff without an NY on it right?
At one point I thought this is what the NY Giants wore because I had only seen black & white photos. Â D’oh.
I was listening to Orel Hershiser talk on ESPN about Starsburg’s performance and he mentioned that the phenom tipped a few pitches. Â He then slipped in that Gooden was tipping pitches in 1988 and addeda comment that the Dodgers only got two runs off him.
My brain gets fuzzy, and for accuracy and good writing maybe you should go read those Faith & Fear guys who probably have written a 20 page essay on this….but I do have Google and half a memory left.
Game 1 NLCS: Â 2 runs, 4 hits, 7ip, 10 strikeouts. Â Tipping pitches.
Game 4 NLCS: Â the last baseball game my father would attend. Â Gooden was sailing along…and I don’t wanna talk about it. Go look it up. 8 and 1/3, 9 ks and one really annoying home run in the 9th. Â Dynasty over, we just didn’t know it.
Game 7 NLCS: Â my brain has blocked this one out…Dr. K to the rescue. Â Darling went one, and Davey played all his cards. Â 3 shut out innings in relief but the score was already 6-0. Â Â Awful. Â Makes you wanna banish Ronnie to the Expos.
I don’t recall ever before hearing about Gooden tipping, but I heard it with my own ears this morning. Â For a guy tipping pitches he sure had a great series…except for one deadly pitch.
I heard Jerry Manuel say that Pelfrey’s “pitchability” has gotten better.
Well it sure has.
Is there any Mets fan who is not proud of Pelf this morning? Â What an outing!
If it’s true that the pitcher picks the uniform, then I am doubly proud of Pelfrey because they wore pinstripes on a weeknight! Â I think that last happened in 1968.
If you are proud of Pelf it’s a good day to express it. Â You know what to do.
You know what else I am proud of – Ike Davis, homegrown. Â Tejada, homegrown. Â Reyes and Wright. Â Pelfrey. Â Even Pagan even though he dated some other people for a while. Â And GMJ was….oh wait, never mind on that last one.
No more of this “guy from the Braves” and “guy that shouldn’t have ran out on Boston after they finally won a World Series” nonsense.
These are METS. Â They are ours.

Tonight I have two caps….why do the Expos have a better looking cap? Â Top to bottom it’s better….the “eb/M” is better than the Mets baseball and the color is just better. Â Better being a relative term. Â Having 6 months to live is “better” than having three.
Why does the Mets cap look so purple? Â Is it purple or does blue + orange make purple? Â Why do all Mets color combinations look purple? Â Most importantly WHO BUYS THESE?
