If you run on the field you’re a knucklehead, however this seems excessive.
Another Subway Series presale at 10am
If you are subscriber to the Flushing Flash (and if you’re not, why not – it’s free and gets you stuff like presale codes), there is a Subway Series presale at 10am.
As I have stated previously, I don’t think it’s cool to post pre-sale codes so I won’t.
The general sale is Thursday at 10am.
Guest post: solution to the long hybrid Mets cap nightmare?
I have been enjoying the guest posts. Here’s a fun one!
Hi Shannon,
I am not a graphic artist, so the attached picture is just a quickie cut and paste. To my surprise, at first blush, the cap doesn’t look as good to me as I thought it would.
What do you think?
Michael
I will split my comment:
1. If black must exist in the name of marketing and they insist on wearing black – then YES this is the move. My biggest problem with the “hybrid” (I love that that term has caught on) is that you can’t see the NY on TV. It looks like a blur. In person on a civilian it pops more, but on an actual major leaguer the NY doesn’t stand out. This design solves the problem.
2. Ditch the black. Dress the team in blue, let civilians wear whatever they want – New Era has tons of options. If I ever have free time on a weekend again I’ve been jonesing to do another round of alternate cap commentary.
Links: Philly, Philly and Arizona
Some links:
Philly.com has an interesting comparison about the ballparks in Flushing and Philadelphia. Â As the grass is always greener, in this article the Mets are smart folks who got the ballpark they wanted, and the Phillies have bumbled their way into a homerfest.
Also from Philly, Peter took his usual quality photgraphs and says:
Phillies have ushers to enforce the going to your seat rule while the game is in progress
The older fans were very nice to me but the young fans were drunk and begging for attention
Total cost Parking & Tolls from Bergen County $30.20 it would be $35 just to visit Citi field.
From Mets Police HQ I actually find it easier to attend a Phillies game, and pay zero in tolls. Â The key is the “other 95.”
Finally, A-Train baseball has requested I comment on Arizona.  Let me work out something more thoughtful than just banging out one sentence.  Can’t do that right now.
Quick stuff on my mind
As promised, I have my coffee and my brain is now working.
I went to bed via Howie at 11-5. Â That worked out.
REMAIN CALM: If I told you on April 14th they would be a half game out on May 3rd you’d have laughed.
LINEUP NITPICKING:  you have to play the bench guys occasionally, and the numbers made sense.  Unless Jerry benched a 700 foot tall player I don’t think that had much to do with the loss.
ATTIRE: I am going to be watching Mr. Santana closely. Â I wonder if he is requesting certain combinations.
DOPEY NEWSPAPER ARTICLE: One of the local papers had a knucklehead dress up as a jerky Mets fan and walk around Philly trying to annoy people. Â Why would you do this? Â I refuse to link. Â Why make Mets fans look like jerks?
Because of that article I saw other out of town articles ripping “Mets fans” for getting carried away about having a half game lead over the Nationals.
Very annoying. Â Bad job local newspaper.
