Mets 24: Will this be an all-blue homestand?


Today is a big big day in the War On Black.

The Mets have worn the pinstripes or snow-whites with the blue caps (“the way we like it” to quote Howie Rose) every game this homestand.

Might we see the pins and the pinless today, or will see the dreaded black?

Has the new equipment manager packed away the awful hybrid caps?

I think 5-8 while bad is live-able. 4-9, which would mean a sweep and a long losing streak, will start a feeding frenzy.

Mets Alumni at Citi Field

The Mets are celebrating Alumni Week (team history!) and tweeted some pics @newyorkmets yesterday.

All this reminds me…in the Mets Hall of Fame there is only one more obvious space on the wall for a new member (presumably a certain catcher)

I’m told the Mets offer parking vouchers at rainouts

I do try to be fair here….several people wrote me and said:

Joe:  The parking attendant told me that the receipt could be used whenever lasts nights game would be made up. So for example, I also paid for parking last night. I could use my receipt to park in the lot for tomorrow’s double header

Rose Anne:  I was told by the parking attendant to save my receipt in case it was rained out. She said it would be good at the make- up. I called the Mets today to confirm and they told me it was good for ANY future game this year! Finally, way to go Mets!

Good job by the Mets!!!!

Mets 24: Yellow Alert

I hate to do this but I’m getting nervous about our Metsies.  Assuming a split in the doubleheader the Mets would be 5-8…bad but not awful.  A sweep, 4-9 and a big home losing streak into a road trip with shaky pitching….all that scares me.

Three games in 24 hours.  Yikes.

Can a knuckleballer save us?
