This fall, 350 fans of Mets broadcasters Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, and Ridgefield’s own Gary Cohen turned out to support Ms. Cohen’s charitable Foundation. With the sun shining down on Citi Field’s Bullpen Plaza, these fans — GKRers, as they’re known — got to experience a special day featuring unprecedented access to rare memorabilia, N.Y. Mets personalities, coveted raffle items, and the fellow fans they’ve come to call dear friends over the years.
The Apple just wins
I think this might be my last post ever. Randy from The Apple just kills with every post.
If The Apple isn’t your favorite Mets blog it should be.
Look at this. He has conquered reverse embedding technology and now has added clean-wipe-edits. Media Goon, let’s step it up.
What’s really awesome about Randy is that the two funniest things around here – the Man Up logo and the Hypnotoad – were made by Randy.
End of line.
Metsmerized suggests Mets Old Timers’ Day
Metsmerized has a crazy idea that the Mets should invite some old guys from the 20th century and have them line up, be introduced and maybe even hit a baseball. Crazy talk.
Next he’ll suggest fans walk around with signs.
The Mets holiday party from a blogger perspective
Forgot to post this one yesterday.
Matthew Artus has a really enjoyable piece about the Mets holiday party from a blogger perspective.
It includes busting on Colactus’ wardrobe:
“It’s Christmas time. It’s a Christmas party,” Collins said defiantly about his wardrobe choice. “Let’s keep things in perspective.” He lightened up shortly thereafter in describing the shirt’s origin, explaining, “This was bought before last night, or before the announcement was made. I didn’t want to show up in black, so I thought this was much more festive.”
Would the media ask him that?
Nope. And that’s the point of all this. This was my Wednesday twitter read of the day…definitely read it.

Hopefully Sandy has loftier goals than hoping to squeak in as the 5 seed.
Nothing against the author or column, but this is silly.
