David Wright undershirt posts are back!

Long time readers know that I frequently observed David Wright’s blatant disregard for the MLB Undershirt Rule.   The short version is he would wear orange, and all undershirts must match and be the team’s primary color or heather gray.  Orange is neither.

Anyway, @nikometsplus noticed DW was wearing an orange undershirt tonight.  I don’t have command of MiLB Uniform Rules the way I do of the MLB Rulebook, but…

Anyway, great to have The Captain back so we can discuss these things.

David Wright played baseball again Monday night and you want to know how he did

In his first AB, David struck out looking.

His second plate appearance…

…SNY doing that bizarre one pitch thing again. Weird SNY. What about all the other pitches?…..

…a walk!

And that’s it.  5 innings and done.  Nobody else got on base (really) so it was a quick 5.  A strike out and a walk.

David is scheduled off tomorrow.

Sterling or Scully: Gary Cohen calls home runs by Conforto and The Virus and I invent Trackwalling

I feel like the Mets haven’t hit a HR in three weeks.  Yesterday there were two (maybe there were more, I sure as hell didn’t watch Mets-Marlins).

Here’s Gare….

Oh Gare, you were so close.  You didn’t Trackwall a moonshot, but you did have to get your “signature” Outta Here.  I guess everyone from Mel Allen to you have done this so I shall not penalize you.

Verdict: Scully, but only because you didn’t Trackwall it.

The Lame Laza also homered!

This is a terrible call.  Gary mails in his “to the wall” but go back and look at the timing.  The outfielder is already leaning at the wall and the ball clears the fence by a lot.  This is Gary at his worst, not describing the play but working in his catchphrases for a goal I don’t understand.  Does he plan to sell 10 million copies of a book called To The Wall someday?  Is he opening a t-shirt business?  Terrible.

Verdict: Sterling

Mets Police Morning Laziness: Wright plays, STFU Travel and order correctly at McDonald’s

SLACKISH REACTION:  I guess the Mets won.  No idea.  Didn’t care about this game or this series AT ALL.  I was even killing two hours at a soccer tryout and I decided to listen to podcasts and watch the tryout instead of dealing with the GD MLB App and playing on twitter.  Don’t know what happened, don’t care what happened.

THE CAPTAIN AMERICA RETURNS:  Did I do that right?  He went 0 for 3 with 2Ks which makes him already better than Todd Frazier in my mind.  Here’s some bizarre videos SNY tweeted.  I do really like baseball’s new one pitch rule!

RANDOM:  People need to learn how to order at a McDonald’s,  I got stuck behind some dude yesterday and heard him going back and forth with the drive thru lady.  No there aren’t mushrooms.  No you can’t swap your drink for a McFlurry.  Stop dude.  Call out a number and let’s go.  Don’t go off menu.  Also they never should have demoted the two cheeseburger meal from #2 to #9.

I have no idea why I have that image.  You run a blog long enough you collect a lot of random stuff.

STFU TRAVEL:  I do not want to hear it from Gary, Keith, Ron or any Mets about travel.  You can get from Miami to NYC in two hours.  Yes you will have a late flight tonight.  Say you don’t get to bed until 4am.  That sucks.  You can sleep until 2pm (that’s TEN HOURS SLEEP) and get to Tuesday night’s 7pm game in time for warmups.  I know it’s hard to bat every 45 minutes and maybe chase five baseballs….or it’s really hard to attend the manager’s press conference at 4 (not like Keith does that).  DO NOT WANNA HEAR IT.

NOT LINKING:  The AAIMBR can’t be bothered to not rip off Rubin’s title and they tell you today’s opponent (Yankees) and starting pitcher (deGrom). Saved you a click!
