Radical Realignment Now: My Plan puts the Mets and Yankees in the same division because SANITY

Now that all the teams will play all the other teams, let’s stop with tradition entirely and fix the game.  I propose radical realignment, and TV put on a Northeast game and a West Game every day and the other divisions can whatever themselves.

NORTHEAST (aka Ruth):  Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Blue Jays

SOUTHEAST (aka Ripken):  Nationals, Orioles, Braves, Miami, Tampa

WEST (aka Robinson):  Dodgers, Angels, Padres, Giants, Mariners

SOUTHWEST (dunno): stay with me here – THE LAS VEGAS ATHLETICS, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Rangers, Astros

CENTRAL (aka Banks):  Cubs, White Sox, Brewers, Cardinals, Royals

OTHERS (aka Celemente):  Tigers, Twins, Guardians, Reds, Pirates

I mean, why wouldn’t you do this?

Took me two minutes and it’s pretty perfect.  If I listed a team twice and left someone out you can make fun of me.

You can give the divisions cooler names if you want.  Let’s go Old Time Hockey and have stuff like Ruth,  Robinson, Aaron, Ripken, Banks, Celemnte etc…

2023 Mets Schedule

The Mets must be using “Mailing List B” which only goes to the MSM and not the bloggers (that seems to be used when one of the Senior Suits handles things as opposed to the lower level guys that handle the day to day).  Anyway, I have acquired the 2023 Mets Schedule, not that I plan to attend any games, baseball is boring.

Let’s see…

The season starts in March.  I guess that’s a good use of a Miami series…it won’t be as boring as usual, and might make a good road trip for fans!  Maybe I WILL go to a game!

That weekend at-Boston series in July is enticing.

This is also the debut of the Play Everyone In Both Leagues schedule, and to be fair, it feels a lot less interleaguey than I thought.

I imagine the Mets sent out a press release with details about this schedule but I didn’t get it, so if baseball wants to keep its marketing a secret, that’s fine by me.

Mets: Jacob deGrom is totally fine! This is about Tai Walker, really!

Do you want Max and Jake back to back in games? I sure don’t. Why would you want that? Is it me? It’s you. This is about Tai Walker anyway. Don’t you like Tai Walker? I do. Why don’t you like Tai Walker? Don’t you want him comfortable? I do. Don’t you?

“A lot of things factored into [the decision],” Showalter said

I have spent a lot of time in corporate meetings.  That sentence there sounds like a dodge to me.

“Tai, we didn’t want him to get too far away from pitching and losing arm strength and some of the things you might lose when you get that far away from it. That was the primary decision.”

So to do so we are getting Jacob deGrom, of all people, off HIS normal routine.   Right.

deGrom threw 95 pitches in his last start.

“He was fine once he got warmed up and everything. Every guy has similar stuff like that … he actually improved being that he threw more than he has. Obviously the priority was Tai and we felt they could all benefit from a little extra time with that off day.”

Why again is deGrom benefitting from an off day – which is actually at least two days since the Mets don’t play tomorrow.  Why Buck?  Were 95 pitches too many?

Nope, this is all about Tai Walker.  And sometimes its about splitting Max and Jake – well what idiot paired them to begin with?  Did you guys not have that idea two weeks ago?  Don’t kid a kidder, Mets.

And sometimes it’s about getting JDG an extra day, except its two, unless they decide to hold him until Friday in which case it is three.

But he is fine.  The beat and the MSM just accepted this.  I mean, why would you start deGrom against the Yankees when they are reeling and the new Mets owner wants to be Good Steinbrenner without any of the Bad Steinbrenner.

Jake is fine.  He’s always fine.  This is about Tai Walker.  You’ll see.
