Some Mets are nice people who don’t hate the fanbase!

The Mets, never quite known for good judgement or doing the right thing, are selling Standing Room to Saturday Night’s game.

Here is some data from the New York Times.

Citi Field can’t even hold a full crowd in normal times – crowded walkways, long bathroom lines, frequently failing credit card machines…..and now you’re going to go out of the way to stuff the place?

Anyway, if you want to join Donald Trump Supporter Mike Piazza as everyone fawns over his home run, and cheer for some players that boo you – and feels safe about any risk – enjoy the game.

The guy held a press conference to tell Mets fans he was booing them.  He should have been DFA’d on the spot.

And I like how you show up after wins.  I guess .504 baseball makes you happy. You somehow managed to put together the least likable of the 60 Mets teams.    Congrats and BOOOO.

Through games played sunrise of September 5th of their respective years.

Ike Davis 2012:  25 HR and 74 RBI (he would homer on September 5th).   .224 and 117 Ks

Pete Alonso 2021: 29 HR and 77 RBI.  .262 and 107 Ks.

So it’s clear that through September 4th, Pete is the better player.  Is he irreplaceably better?  Clearly not.

Also “Captain” Pete has been complicity silent in not sticking up for the fans.  I guess he’s just fine with the fans being booed by players, which is why he and deGrom and Thor and Conforto and Nimmo and McNeil and everyone not named Brad Hand must go.  All of them.   You cannot break the sacred bond with the fans.

Today will make it one full week since I haven’t watched a Mets game and I am doing just fine.  HBO Max added the Dirty Harry movies.  Now you shouldn’t’ watch baseball or a movie during a weekend afternoon, but during the week you should watch Dirty Harry movies.
