@readtheapple spotted this at the Rockland Boulders game. It has to be a game worn, I can’t imagine ordering a custom Hojo and picking the coach number. Maybe I will get myself a Castillo-era Mookie.
Pass the blue cap
Here’s what you missed since you last goofed off at work.

Increasingly people “notice” I am a Mets fan as if it’s something weird
I wear a lot of Mets attire when I’m not dressed as Clark Kent.
Growing up in Queens in the 80’s amongst the front-runners that was never a weird thing.
25 years later out here in Yankees Country (that’s everywhere outside Citi Field to somewhere in Connecticut and somewhere along the Delaware River) people have started to comment about my Mets stuff.
The vibe is always like “poor you” as if I’m some stupid Cubs fan or something. Or like it’s weird. Or why am I not a Yankees fan like everyone else?
I have come to enjoy the feeling.
Yep, I’m a Mets fan. Remember that when the cycle comes back around.
….
Now about that cycle coming around? What if it doesn’t? Am I destined to be some octogenarian blogger talking about a team that won 65 years ago?
How many years has to go by until we’re one of “those” teams like the Cubs?
Here’s some wikipedia to ponder. I don’t feel like the Brewers are one of “those” teams so we have some cover. I suppose the Astros enter the club next year going 0 for half a century.
So figure around 2036 I will start to harp on this point. I wonder what the 50th anniversary patch will look like.

A list of stadium food violations including you know where
This isn’t a “pick on the Mets” posting. I could have easily titled this “Mets Citi Field Food Violations” but I didn’t think that was fair in the context of the article I am linking.
Many stadiums have reported food violations and you can scroll thru Business Insider to see what’s what.
Specific to Citi Field, Business Insider says there were 36 critical violations.
Highlighted Violations:
One food worker was spotted handling prepared food without using protective gloves or tongs.”Filth flies” found in food preparation areas.Evidence of live mice in at least three locations. Cleanliness of the employees was noted as “inadequate.”
Shark Shack here at Better Than Wright’s suffered from the same issues, although I did get rid of the mice and I’m not sure what “filth flies: are but yeah I did just grab a hot dog and put it on a bun once.
