The return of The A’s Police

Last night I was staring at the gold uniforms, wishing I had 3G, when I remembered the fun A’s Police tantrum I threw last summer after none of you backmans showed up at Mets HOF day.

I finally figured out why the gold uniforms look bad. The gray pants. With white they look nice, and they look fun on civilians, but they look awful on players from Oakland on the road.

The A’s play in Philly next. Do you think there’s some old curmudgeony Philly A’s fan who is going to dust off his blue cap and his Jimmie Foxx jersey to go see his team? I would love to shake that man’s hand!

Anyway, lots to catch up on from last night since I couldn’t post a darn thing from Citi. I think it’s pretty clear that Verizon kicks AT&T’s tail I that park. I should have AT&T sponsor my dopey site so the parallel with Metsblog powered by Verizon holds.

Here’s some A’s Police for ya…

Who can forget the great Billy Taylor for Izzy trade?

Or the time Ronnie pitched in the playoffs?

Or one of the great backup catchers of all time?

Yep that’s definitely Mike. Looks just like him!

..

Keep scrolling down and on to “Page 2” – there are a lot of pictres from last night and some have been knocked off the main page

Still even more pictures from last night’s Mets-A’s game

As you will hear many times today I had no AT&T service after the rain last night, and it was one of those nights everyone sent stuff in. So let’s play catch-up:

@metsflu with a Dave Howard sighting! We may have to make this a new “thing”. Gold star for @metsflu

@guydownthere knows it was Murphy who blew the save

And @ceetar and @dailystache both tweeted crowd shots around 11:30

I really wanted to stick it out but Media Goon gave me a ride to where I was sleeping and I didn’t want to keep Mets Police Mom out too late.

Good crowd

I’m trying to send this to you in the bottom of the 6th but there ain’t no AT&T at Citi tonight

Pretty good crowd for a Saturday.
