Nobody wants to listen to Stroman, Mets rained out.

The Mets waited until after 6pm to rain out tonight’s game which really sucks if you made a trip.

I’m guessing that they didn’t want to listen to The Big Zero it there was a rain delay.

Clearly it’s gonna rain but seems like they could play later.

Postponed Game Rescheduled as Part of a Single Admission Doubleheader

Thursday, May 27 at 12:10 P.M.

 

FLUSHING, N.Y., May 26, 2021 – The New York Mets have announced that tonight’s game against the Colorado Rockies has been postponed due to inclement weather. It will be rescheduled as part of a single admission doubleheader, tomorrow, Thursday, May 27 at 12:10 p.m. The second game of the doubleheader will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Both games will be seven-inning contests. Tickets for tonight’s game will NOT be valid for admission to tomorrow’s doubleheader.

 

Fans are encouraged to visit Mets.com for ticket information.

Now what’s interesting about this is – weekday day games are stupid to begin with, with the excuse being that teams need to travel. The Rockies are heading to Pittsburgh, a 95 minute flight. But now everyone is ok with the Rockies sticking around later. They will be so tired Friday. Waaaah.

The Mets also don’t seem to understand they don’t have enough arms to play two games in one day.

Pretty entertaining Mets Game Notes for May 26th + Mickey Callaway suspended by MLB!

Hey I just want to say Uncle Steve is doing a great job!  New acquisition Billy Whatshisname, I already forgot….the new guy…..he’s batting 4th.   He will wear #60 and yes Media Goon already bought his jersey.

Meanwhile, remember that time Dom Smith slept late and there was a HODGES MOMENT (Howie Rose’s career low point) well..

I will let you know if there are any updates on that New Culture he brought to the Mets.

Speaking of Dom, since he’s a Met, he’s hurt and won’t start tonight.

OF Billy McKinney has been activated…He will wear #60.  And bat fourth.

OF Johneshwy Fargas has been placed on the 10-Day IL, retroactive to May 25, with a left AC joint sprain.

Last night, the New York Mets announced they acquired outfielder Billy McKinney from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for minor league left- handed pitcher Pedro Quintana…RHP Jordan Yamamoto was been transferred to the 60-Day IL to make room on the 40-man roster…McKinney has appeared in 40 games for the Brewers this season and is batting .207/.260/.359 with nine runs, three doubles, a triple, three home runs, six RBI and a stolen base…He has played 20 games in the outfield and nine games at first base this season…The 26-year-old was originally drafted in the first round (24th overall) by the Oakland Athletics in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.

THE BIG ZERO:  Stroman has not earned a win in any of his last six starts, including four losing decisions…wait until he finds out about the thunderstorms.

Big Market Mets acquire 1B-OF Billy McKinney

It’s great that the Wilpons are gone.  In the old days, Sandy Alderson would have had to bring in some fringe major leaguer just so the Mets could field a team.  But under this new billionaire owner, the Mets have tons of organizational depth and the resources to go out and get big time players when necessary!  Thanks Steve!

METS ACQUIRE OF BILLY MCKINNEY FROM MILWAUKEE

FLUSHING, N.Y., May 25, 2021 – The New York Mets today announced they have acquired outfielder Billy McKinney from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for minor league left-handed pitcher Pedro Quintana. RHP Jordan Yamamoto has been transferred to the 60-Day IL to make room on the 40-man roster.

 

McKinney has appeared in 40 games for the Brewers this season and is batting .207/.260/.359 with nine runs, three doubles, a triple, three home runs, six RBI and a stolen base. He has played 20 games in the outfield and nine games at first base this season.

 

In 84 games as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019, the Dallas, TX native collected 12 home runs, 14 doubles and 28 RBI.

 

The 26-year-old was originally drafted in the first round (24th overall) by the Oakland Athletics in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. He has appeared in parts of four seasons with the New York Yankees (2018), Blue Jays (2019-2020) and the Brewers (2021). He is a career .226/.285/.422 hitter with 61 runs scored, 24 doubles, two triples, 21 home runs and 47 RBI in 164 major league games.

 

Quintana, 17, was signed by the Mets as a non-drafted free agent on January 15, 2021.

When the WIlpons are Gone Mets Game Notes for May 25

I’m hearing a lot of excuses.  Don’t wanna hear it.  Spend money, get players.

Prior to tonight’s game, the Mets announced the following transactions…RHP Jacob deGrom was reinstated from the 10-Day IL (right side tightness)…RHP Jordan Yamamoto was placed on the 10-Day IL, retroactive to May 24, with right shoulder soreness…INF Jake Hager was claimed by the Milwaukee Brewers and people are acting like they are upset about that but they really aren’t.

The Mets will rush JDG back tonight but he’s totally fine. What could go wrong? Did you see him throw 102 last week?

James McCann played his first career game at first base last night…It was his 635th career game in the major leagues…He never appeared at first base in 359 career minor league games but the WIlpons are stupid and cheap and we don’t have enough players…He appeared in the infield only once in his professional career, playing third base on May 14, 2014 in a game with Toledo against Syracuse.

It is May 25th.  Pete Alonso has six home runs.

Dom Smith will play LF because he overslept once and there was a Hodges Moment.
