Mets start Dom Smith in LF so I stop asking questions

The Mets, realizing that me jumping up on down has people asking questions – why a heart monitor? What was up with his breathing? Why did you float the stress factor story if it was his breathing? – have started Dom Smith the everyday Left Fielder in Left Field.

Progress.

But I still have questions.

Why the head fake on teh stress factor?

Why did you cover this up for a week and a half?

When Jacob deGrom hits the DL remember who warned you about throwing 100 in March

In one electrifying sequence, the Mets ace went 101, 101, 100 to Steven Souza Jr., before striking out the Astros outfielder on a slider to end the first inning. At least 10 of deGrom’s pitches for the night reached triple digits, as recorded by the stadium scoreboard (via NY Post)

From the New York Times 2017

For the second year in a row, Syndergaard throws a harder fastball than any other starter in baseball: 98.2 miles per hour. Only now, he cannot pitch at all, because he tore his right latissimus muscle on Sunday when he came out firing at 100 m.p.h. in Washington. Officially, he is on the 10-day disabled list. But the Mets acknowledged he will miss weeks, not days.

“It’s really sad to see,” Kaat said. “You get a guy like Syndergaard and so many other young pitchers — they’re so much more talented and gifted than we were.”

Syndergaard bought so thoroughly into his Thor persona last winter that he should have just carried a hammer to spring training. He was jacked, unapologetically so. Why did the hardest-throwing starter in the majors — 98 miles per hour last season, according to FanGraphs — need to bulk up and throw even harder?  (via NY Times)

You have all been warned, but just do what you always do, tell me I am old, stupid and negative (you left out fat) and ignore me.   I hope to be wrong, but unfortunately, tend to be right.  See you this summer when I remind you about this post.

By the way if you have never watched Network you should.  Amazingly prophetic.

Something WAS/IS up with Dom Smith – why were Mets monitoring his heart rate?

A HA!   Hey, as always, I was right!  For all you people that think I am a kook – once again I am proven right.  There WAS a reason Dom wasn’t playing the field.

Also notice how the Mets are feeding reporters different narratives to cover up whatever is being covered up.  What happened to the 2019 Stress Factor story?

Smith was late in beginning workouts for the team for an undisclosed reason, and early in camp wore a vest that monitored his breathing and heart rate to ensure he wasn’t pushing too hard. He says he is completely healthy.  (via NY Post)

Apologies are being accepted via my twitter account @metspolice.

Thanks to the nice person who put this on my radar.

Mets know I am on to them, will play Dom Smith in LF Friday, story still suspicious

The Mets have realized that I am on to them, and now have announced that Dom Smith play LF on Friday.

Thats all well and good, but the reason they are feeding reporters for Dom not playing is…..wait for it…..he has a stress fracture caused by switching back and forth positions…..in 2019.  2019.  Not 2020.  Not this spring.  2019.    That’s the version behind the Newsday paywall.  You haven’t seen this story because it’s behind the Newsday paywall because Newsday thinks you are going to pay to read their stuff which of course you are not.

That’s one version.

Then the Anthony DiComo, official Major League Baseball Blogger, is selling that they “wanted to avoid taxing” Dom.

So which is it….”taxing him” – what does that even mean?  They have played 60 games since October 2019…….or is there an 18 month old stress factor.

My hogwash detector is screaming.

What’s the truth Mets?

And where is @nycsporty who said I was making a big deal out of nothing.  There’s clearly SOMETHING Sporty.  Now…..kneel before Zod and apologize.
