They say In his new role, Leiter will focus on scouting and player development with an emphasis on mental preparation for pitchers. He will work with players at every level of the organization, from newly drafted players to major leaguers.

All of a sudden Al leaves the YES network and decides to scout players for the Mets?

And?

Why all of a sudden?  Why today?  What is this really about Scully?

Do you think he is repped by CAA?

I don’t know Scully.  But I do mean to find out.

 

 

This is very unexciting although  I thank Tommy for letting me know it’s available for sale.

It’s a pretty uninspired boring logo – adds nothing…nothing but clutter that is.

It’s Mount Rushmore Monday, and today it’s the Mount Rushmore of Mets Outfielders.   Interestingly although only three people play the outfield at once, the mountain has four.

This one was tough.  I’m not even sure we should ask the drillers to begin construction on this one.

Starting on the easy end – Strawberry.  Oh what could have been….but a superstar for a while in Queens and we still talk about him.

Beltran – never appreciated when he was here…and on his way to Cooperstown. I’m still not entirely sure he’s a “Met” but the drillers are getting antsy.

Mookie – I guess?  Good player, good citizen, seemingly always around.

and Cleon Jones.  My mountain has a lot of recency bias, even if my version of “recent” is 30 years ago not 50 – and I thought it would be weird to leave out the first 25 years of the franchise.

Cases could be made for Rusty, for Kingman (although he played less OF than your memory might have him playing), or even Lee Mazzilli (what?).

I think we should hold off on building this one….and hope Conforto and Nimmo make it.

Oh, and Cespedes?  I forgot he existed until his sentence.  He needs to play more to get on the mountain.  Sorry Ces.

I hope Gary Cohen is paying attention, because Gare this is how you do it.  Note the “he knew it.”  The announcer knew it too.  No Trackwalling here.

SLACKISH REACTION:  Snow is the worst and both the Mets and I should move to Arizona.  Do the Diamondbacks have any good bloggers?  I know their uniforms suck so there could be a role for me.

Today’s #TheNarrative is about Dom Smith.  Dom had three hits so he’s now turned the corner and Mickey Hodges loves him, and so will everyone else with their copycat content, even if the AAIMBR just did a Dom Sucks article on March 1st – however the one version of the AAIMBR on Fansided is putting out like 25 garbage articles a day (one for each writer, they are catching up to the other two sites that have 50 each) so it’s hard to keep up.
