When I went on tour at Citi Field last year there was two rules the Mets had.
One: do not shoot video.
Two: do not take pics of the locker room or clubhouse
The two rules were perfectly understandable due to the fact it was during the season and the players personal items were in the lockers. However, I was able to snap some pics of the locker room the other day when the Mets were hosting their Citi Kids at Citi Field event.
There’s an interesting event tomorrow night at the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria that your readers might like to know about. Bill Webb, longtime director of Mets TV broadcasts, and Curt Gowdy Jr. from SNY will be participating in a symposium called “The Art of Televised Baseball” at 7pm. It sounds like a rare opportunity to get the behind-the-scenes skinny on how a Mets broadcast comes to life. The Museum re-opened last week after a total renovation. It’s beautiful, and well worth a visit.

This sounds really interesting. When I was a kid I know that I would be there without a doubt. It blends two of my favorite things, The Mets and behind the scenes of television. Maybe I will go check it out tomorrow.
Chris Swann who help us out over at SPORTSPOLICE, is a season ticket holder for the Mets and went to the MVP Perks event held at Citi Field
Chris sent over some pics (that I put into video form) and also gave his thoughts on the event. Here’s Chris:
VERY good job by the Mets. I was very impressed with how warm and open all the players were, as well as Sandy and Terry. The food was good and of course the bar was open for free.
The players were very dedicated and fun to be around, even after two straight days of public appearances. Sandy definitely knows what he is doing, or at least he sounds like he does. His answers are very long to basically every question, so you forget what the initial question was; however, he makes you believe that he knows what he is talking about.
Jose was just like his old self fun, laughing, and engaging. Thole … same as Jose. He looks genuinely happy and appreciative of his place with the team and had a constant smile on his face.
Sandy believes that a team cannot simply build around their ballpark. While they will be fast and play defense, he noted that the dimensions on the infield are the same throughout baseball and thus, defense is not just an idea to be geared around the Citi outfield.
