Wait, did Mike Piazza really do this when he was on the Mets?

Sometimes you punch Piazza into your own blog and find the scariest thing.  Did Mike really do this with his hair?  I must have gone to Rekall after seeing it.

Not @mediagoon’s Mets Bobbleheads #49: Manager Willie

MetsPolice Manager Willie Randolph BobbleheadSince Shannon, Goon, and I have pretty much cleaned out our closets of Mets jerseys (at least for now, we all know there will be more later), I was thinking where can we go from here.  Easy answer – who doesn’t love bobbleheads?

Poor Willie.  He wasn’t a great manager, but he didn’t deserve the treatment he received from the Mets.  Maybe part of it was that he never really was a Met. Regardless, the team had a winning season each of his full 3 years not to mention the team’s  last playoff appearance.

The fourth of the 50th Anniversary bobbleheads in our series is Mike Piazza.  Remarkable they did not portray him in a black jersey (though I get twitches every time I see that hybrid cap).

The Magic Wasn’t Back At All

I sat in my office last night thinking about what to write about and I started staring around my office where I saw this.

I hadn’t stared at it in a while, but there were those words. The Magic Is Back.

They lied to me.

At least this year the Mets aren’t lying. The slogan on Mets.com is “Great Time. Great Place. Great Memories.” At least they aren’t trying to hogwash us with some nonsense that this team is going to win more than 63 games. As for the slogan, it’s pretty much what my attitude was in 2012: The Memories with my son are great, I always have a good time and the place ain’t half bad. Sure it has some issues that will never get fixed (cough, pexiglass) but once they painted it and added some “Mets Stuff” it got a lot better.

The Magic Isn’t Back this year, but I’m ready to sit upstairs on Opening Day.
