Mets Open Workout At Citi Field

Good job out of the Mets.

Today the missus and I were able to spend several hours walking all around Citi Field courtesy of the Mets. The Mets opened the gates of the new field at 9:30 AM to all season and plan holders to watch a team workout at 11 AM.

Not surprisingly most people did not watch the workout.

We spent our time walking the ballpark- each concourse on every level. Not only that but the Mets even opened the doors to all the restaurants that, during the season, are closed to most fans. We were able to see the inside of the Acela Club, Caesar’s Club, Promenade Club, and the Ebbets Club.

Most concession stands were open and the lines seemed to be moving a bit better than they were on Friday night.

The only glitch we encountered all day was in the team store after the workout was over – the credit card systems were down (again).

Oh, the pulled pork sandwich from Blue Smoke was amazing!

Here are about 2 dozen pictures from in and around the ballpark – enjoy!

  1. Do you know the deal for access to the restaurants? I am thinking of going early for Fathers Day and taking the family to eat at one of the restaurants but have no clue if I need a certain ticket or just reservations. I have searched high and low for any info on the Mets site but haven’t been able to find anything on the restaurants.

  2. Only people with certain tickets are allowed in to the various restaurants. I believe the Acela Club is only open to Field Box and Suite ticket holders.
