Mets add Pyrotechnics Night and 6-pack

Three things catch my eye this morning:

1.  The mainstream press has learned of the 6 packs which Mets Police told you about two days ago. I don’t say that to show off (I only found out because a reader, Peter, told me) but I find it interesting that the link was live before the press release went out yesterday at 4:30, and yes the link was live to the point you could complete a purchase.

2.  The Mets have added a 6th pack which was not there two days ago:   The Pyrotechnics Pack includes Fr. April 23 (Braves), Thurs May 27 (Phillies), Tues. June 22 (Tigers),Mon. July 5 (Reds), Fri. Aug 27th (Astros), Wed. September 29th (Brewers)

July 5th is Pyrotechnics night, about which I can’t find any information other than it sounds better than having Fireworks Night the day after July 4th.

3.  I still think my idea for a Seven Game Pack was better, more fan-friendly, and could have become a happening.  However, my plan likely doesn’t fit the model of manipulating people into buying games they don’t want.  I’ll get into that later today.

  1. Saw a mention of six-packs on your site, couple of days ago but Mets.com had no mention. Checked back last night and 6-pack packages were available (last rows – Promenade Reserved only). Picked up 4 tickets to Champion pack and had hoped to get back to add the opener pack (but two hours later — all were gone). MLB sent a notice that the Mets were offering the 6-packs which was received after all seats were gone. Thanks for keeping us informed — I kept checking Mets.com for release of smaller package because of your notice. Keep up the good work.

    1. Thanks. Again I’m thrilled there’s a community forming here and thy fans are helping fellow fans. I would never have known had Peter not seen it. I guess it’s possible we saw the link being tested live – I often twek this site on Saturday night and if you cone by at the right time you might see something “wrong”. Anyways there was a window to purchase on Thursday night. I’ve seen a confirmed purchase.

  2. You really can’t blame the mets for having fireworks on the 5th, given that on the 4th(Sun) they are playing in Washington.

  3. in the past the Mets have usually had Fireworks night like the 30th or something. (of June)

the 5th is actually the ‘official’ holiday. I know I’m off that day.
