Pictures of the reconfigured bullpens at Citi Field

If you head down the stairs that lead to where Shea’s Apple was hidden in 2009 (wow in retrospect, what were they thinking) – right under Shea Bridge, you’ll get a great view of the reconfigured bullpens at Citi Field.  This is an interesting little nook of the ballpark that’s unfortunately out of the way and has little purpose other than watching guys arm up, or maybe having a fight with your girlfriend.  Click on the pictures for much bigger views.

  1. but seriously folks…

i can’t quite tell, but are the bullpens slanted with respect to the fence, or are they perpindicular to the outfield fence? it does look like (and makes sense) that the mounds are under the bridge, so they can’t get wet in a rain delay.
