NJ.com Mets blogger audition

This one has been around for a while, but it was off my radar until yesterday when I was emailing with Matthew Artus who writes the Always Amazin’ blog on NJ.com.  Bascially, they are looking for bloggers.

I’m tempted to enter myself, but even though I post 85 times a day, when it becomes on deadline it becomes homework so I’m sitting this one out.   However, it might be perfect for you.  Info below and more info here.

If you feel like writing every now and then, I very much welcome and encourage guest posts.   That’s as simple as emailing me at [email protected]

What (they are) looking for:

  • A fan’s voice – Show your Mets passion. But please be the fan we’d want to sit next to at the game, not the guy we’d talk to the usher about.
  • A conversational approach – Engage other fans. Invite comments. Ask questions. be an avid commenter on other posts around the Mets section.
  • A sense of humor

Ready to show us your stuff? If you don’t already have one, get your community account, then go to the blog and get busy.

  • Consistent production – This contest is open for a while, and the season is even longer. Show you can do 3-5 posts per week. Posts are usually better when they’re short, sweet and on a single topic, rather than when they’re long and encyclopedic. Got a few things to cover? Do a few posts. this approach will also help you pace yourself.

    1. Hmm..did they just not find anyone? I think they were doing this in March/April to begin with, but if they’re still doing it..

Ithought about it as well, but my typical posts don’t seem to fit they way they want them to, and sometimes I only post once a week if it’s busy (Or the Mets are pissing me off and I don’t have anything positive to say)

I also dislike nj.com’s blogging platform. (I used to work for the company that supports nj.com actually.)
