“We are launching Citi Field Tours to provide our fans with a behind-the-scenes experience of Citi Field,†said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, Mets. “We’ve had great interest from our fans since opening the ballpark last year, and we are delighted to be able to provide them a closer look at their team’s home.â€
Saturday and Sunday tours depart every 30 minutes, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. from the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. Complimentary parking for all tours is available in the Citi Field Official Lot (Lot G), with the entrance on 126th Street off of Roosevelt Avenue.
I’m excited. It’s cool that they’ve mentioned the Mets Clubhouse. It seems like on the one or two other stadium tours I’ve gone on, they’ve usually stopped doing the home team clubhouse.
agreed all, another good job. They are so much more tuned in than they were in 2009.
The complimentary parking is a really nice touch.
Good price too – and nice job with kids AND senior discount
Mets with another good job. I guess they really are listening to what their fans want.
I’m going to guess these tours will be when the team is on the road. Given the complimentary parking in Lot G, which has direct access from 126th and is hardly empty on game days. Also, Mets are on the road for Memorial Day weekend
Yeah, the release says weekends for tours, so if the Mets are home, the game will be on when the tours would normally go, unless it’s a night game. Don’t know if they’d do tours for an 8pm ESPN start or something, or the 7:10 starts they have most Saturdays in August.
This is cool, I will go. Wish they had done this for Shea though.
good job! would love to go on tour!
We’re bought tix today for the first tour for non-season tix holders – Sat of Memorial Day weekend @ 11 am. I’ll let you know how it is. Can’t wait!
Please do – I really want to do it but its such a long ride from Mets Police HQ. I may have to have Media Goon take on this assignment. Plus he is better with a camera.
I would have figured you would be trying to organize a Mets Police group tour. Never let them forget you’re out there…lol
