Ah Kaz…along with Shinjo and “the Japanese Greg Maddux”, a wonderful time in Mets history when the Mets decided they were smarter than all the other teams. Â Here’s one last look at Brian’s closet:
Matsui
Remember all the pomp and circumstance? Matsui showing up to his press conference with an ’86 World Championship ring on, Reyes being moved to second. What a disaster!
To make matters worse on this one, I have ANOTHER authentic jersey with Matsui (grey road). But 2004 was a pretty dark time to be a dude in college and a Mets fan, so when I ran out and picked up the pumpkin orange BP jersey, Matsui was my guy. I still never forget how my dad and I went nuts when he hit the first pitch of the 2004 season out of Turner Field to dead center. We thought we had Ichiro 2 on our hands. Instead, just another great story.
