“This is about 2010 instructional league,” Wogan said. “We would much rather be at home in St. Lucie, and that’s nothing against this complex and nothing against Lee County, because we’re thrilled with the way we’re being treated.”
The Mets relocated for the fall because the St. Louis Cardinals, who train 30 minutes away from St. Lucie, have canceled their fall instructional league. The Marlins have limited their players to 10 days.
The Mets would have been on buses for two to three hours a day in order to compete.
