The Mets aren’t the only MEN IN BLACK at Citi Field

To really tweak Shannon tonight, I have to relay this info. A scene or two is being shot tonight at Citi Field. Ready for this guys? The movie is Men in BLACK 3. That’s right guys and gals more black uniforms at Citi Field. Its actually the “B” unit shooting there.

I shot over to Citi earlier tonight and took two shots of the set. They have a large blue screen set up in the parking lot. Hey Shannon, there was some blue at Citi Field this week!

Here are a the two pics of the Men In Black 3 set from Citi Field’s parking lot.

  1. I always thought, although I have no direct evidence of it, that the idea for “Mets in Black” came from the presence in the movie “Men in Black” of Shea Stadium and then-Met Bernard Gilkey, who had a 5-second cameo in the film getting conked in the head by a fly ball (in the proper Mets home uni, BTW) while watching the flying saucer swooping over Shea from the Worlds Fair. The studio and filmmakers would have obviously had to deal with the Mets organization on some level. Could this have planted the seed? “Men in Black” came out in 1997; “Mets in Black” debuted in 1998. Coincidence? I think not.

    1. @grafzeppelin127 better get Jesse Ventura and his conspiracy theory show to investigate.
