Where is the 2013 MLB All Star Game being played?

If one were to assume that the 2013 All Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday July 9, 2013, that leaves 517 days until All Star Day.

One would think Major League Baseball would formally announce the location of the game at some point before then.

For example, back in June 2010 Bud Selig announced the location of a game that will not be played until July 2012..a span of over two years!  This mysteriously located 2013 game seems to have a smaller window of publicity.

Various reports have suggested that the New York Mets would be the host team, hence my obsession with this topic.

In July of 2011 Bud Selig said the Mets’ chances “look pretty good” which is nice because I understand the commissioner is friendly with Fred Wilpon, and Fred could use some good news.

And yet here I am…hoping to get all excited for the 2013 Midsummer Classic and I don’t even know where the game should be.

I’m hoping that baseball was just being considerate of the National Football League’s feelings and wanted to let the Giants have their days in the sun.

Perhaps there are some logistical delays with hosting an event in New York City that are causing the delay.

At some point though someone else (Adam Rubin, that’s you) is going to become curious about this story, no?

Hopefully the Mets are just minutes away from announcing a press conference with MLB.  That would be nice.  I like All Star Games.  I’ll even buy a jersey.
