Self-thoughts about MetsPolice.com

A few random thoughts.

I was really really happy with the blog on Sunday.  I thought it perfectly captures what we’re trying to do.

I loved all the Banner Day stuff (of course).  I loved that we were able to share Mr. Met, Pedro and My Mom again.

I loved the non-controversy over Media Goon’s banner.

I loved over-thinking Mr. Met’s Family Tree.

But I took the below as really high praise…

Shannon Shark, who runs the fantastic site, The Mets Police, a “fan advocacy blog for the followers of the New York Mets.” Shannon lives and dies with the exploits of the boys from Queens, much more so than Paul or I, so he’s always on top of their doings, and mostly mis-doings these days.

Anyways, whether I tick you off, you hang on every word or think the entire site is stupid, I like doing it and I’m proud that, if nothing else, it’s different than other sites.

  1. The good thing is that a real Mets blog, Adam Rubin’s ESPN Mets blog links to you almost daily.

  2. I cannot stand Mike Francessa … however, every once in a while he will stun me by saying somethning that makes sense.

Shannon, I realize that as the greatest Met fan God has placed on this earth, you might not agree with him, but I defy you to take any point he made and dispute it with fact.

If you determine that it helps you pound your chest to pay good money to watch this travesty at city field and line the Wilpon’s pockets withyour hard-earned money, go for it.
