Yeah I am a sucker for jerseys and also a sucker for a good cause. Put those two things together and you get my newest acquisition. The Brooklyn Cyclones wore these jerseys on “Meaningful Mondays” to help raise money for areas that were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. I actually bid on two jerseys. The first one is a Coney Island on the back. The second I’ll share tomorrow.If you look close you can see the names of the neighborhoods printed within the Cyclones front logo.

Being a Staten Islander, and having spent the majority of my life in the Oakwood area, I recently had the opportunity to buy the jersey that contained the neighboring town to mine, Oakwood Beach. I bought it primarily because it was uniquely special to me, but I was really floored by how nice it was too — with the names of all of the hurricane damaged towns listed in the twill the team logo was cut from. Ingenious idea.
