Terry Watch Watch: Mets Police says it is time for Wally Backman

Sorry Terry.  We have a product to sell here, and it’s not selling.

The ballpark is dead.  The broadcasts are dead.  The lineup is dead.

Stop selling me the future.

This team needs a kick in the ass.

Wally Mets

This team needs some fire.

This team needs to look like it gives a shit when it loses.

This team needs to look like it gives a shit when the team is sleepwalking through another game.

This fan base needs something to hang our July 4th Fashion Caps on.

This team needs a little of the 1986 attitude.

Even from a Product standpoint, having that in the dugout will spill upstairs where right now Gary sounds angry at the world (have you noticed?) and Keith sounds like he is being forced to be there.  (Ron and KB continue to hand in their best work.)

I’d love to hear Ron and Keith reacting to the crazy angry guy in the dugout.

I look at this picture and I imagine him saying, “The bullshit stops now boys.”

It will still be Daniel Murphy carrying The 51s plus David Wright having a sub-par year (FOUR home runs and .271 on June 13th).

The roster is still bad, but it doesn’t need to be boring.

Teufel is boring.  Geren is boring.  Safe choice is boring.

Wally now.

Sorry Terry.

  1. “STLMetsFan5: metspolice So does that mean this is now a Terry Watch?” That’s up to the mainstream media and the Wilpons.

  2. “mrmet115: metspolice it was Wally Time a month ago!!” And it is WALLY time not Geren Time, not Teufel Time, not safe choice time.

  3. metspolice indeed- a Message has to be sent as you stated so well-the BS Stops Here!!

  4. metspolice the over managing is driving me nuts. PH 4 Abreu, then having to us Tejada in a later spot? #wally

  5. metspolice How can this be Terry’s fault when he’s managing a AAA lineup?

  6. metspolice i dont want either of them, need a totally new voice, wally as savior sets him up to fail

  7. metspolice terry doesn’t deserve to be fired. Ownership & MetsGM need to be held accountable for crap roster.

  8. metspolice Wally would make post-game pressers more entertaining. Actual games will be just as tediously dreary.

  9. .metspolice If Geren takes over, who is gonna give the sideways shaky thumbs up during instant replay challenges?

  10. EddieDanna metspolice Yep. Bland, a company guy and someone who never wins. Collins-lite.

  11. The Wilpons don’t hire managers with minds, opinions, or ideas of their own- they hire sycophants and puppets. Wally doesn’t fit their mold of being help that knows their place. Bobby Valentine was the last guy employed by the Wilpons with  some independence and it will never happen again. Geren is their type of guy. You know, Art Howe but younger.
