The Mets are hosting their ninth annual MetsGiving Turkey Giveaway on Friday, November 17 to donate over 7,500 turkeys to those in need in advance of Thanksgiving. The Amazin’ Mets Foundation funded a $180,000 grant to support this initiative and is working with a total of 15 community partners throughout New York City to feed over 61,000 underserved individuals.
Taking over the New York City area, Mr. & Mrs. Met, Catcher Francisco Alvarez and members of the Mets organization will be onsite helping distribute turkeys across all five boroughs.
The Mets will host in-person distributions in each borough including the Queens Community Justice Center, New York Common Pantry in Manhattan, Part of the Solution in the Bronx, the New York Foundling in Staten Island and Maimonides Park in Brooklyn.
The Mets reportedly will not be giving Ohtani a big contract.
