Update: Gee to Have Surgery
I just took this whole things from Mets.com
Mets right-hander Dillon Gee, who had a blood clot in his pitching shoulder cleared on Tuesday, will have surgery Friday to prevent the clotting from returning in the future, ESPN New York reported.
Gee was released from New York-Presbyterian Hospital on Wednesday, one day after he was hospitalized with numbness in the fingers of his right hand. A subsequent angiogram revealed a clot in a right shoulder artery. Doctors used a catheter to dissolve the clot.
Following his start on Saturday, Gee asked fellow pitcher R.A. Dickey to feel his hand, which was cold. Dickey advised Gee to visit trainer Ray Ramirez, who sent the 26-year-old to the hospital for an MRI.
According to the ESPN New York report, Gee will undergo the procedure to fix the artery damage in his shoulder in St. Louis with specialist Dr. Robert Thompson at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. The Mets expect him to be able to resume throwing in six to eight weeks, but they will not push him to return this season.
Earlier Wednesday, the Mets placed Gee on the disabled list and plan to callup southpaw reliever Josh Edgin on Friday.
Edgin, 25, went 3-2 with a 3.89 ERA in 35 appearances with Triple-A Buffalo.
Man I hope he feels better…
Gee, who is 6-7 with a 4.10 ERA in 17 starts, was originally slated to open the Mets’ second-half schedule on Friday in Atlanta. Instead, Chris Young will pitch Friday.

Mets, Wait I Mean Indians Hernandez/Baerga
Mr. Shark might be on his own secret missions, but he is still able to send some cool stuff into his own sight. Keith Hernandez on the Indians and a mention of future Mets player Carlos Baerga.
CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Indians of 1990 was a team in transition.
Brothers David and Dick Jacobs purchased the team in 1986 and the plan to make the team competitive was being molded. We were a few years away from those powerhouse teams of the 90s.
The infield of that season was an example of the transition.
Keith Hernandez was signed as free agent to play first base. Carlos Baerga, acquired in a trade with the San Diego Padres for Joe Carter, would play shortstop and share some time with veteran third baseman Brook Jacoby.
