Mets to dogs: Bark off

As you may have noticed, tonight’s Mets game has been rained out.  Actually you may not have noticed.

Anyway, dogs everywhere (including this very nice dog with poor taste in jerseys)  have been tweeting me to complain that they are not being invited back this season whereas humans are:

Tickets for Monday’s game will not be honored Wednesday. Only fans with tickets marked “Game 77” will be admitted to Wednesday’s games.

Fans holding paid tickets for Monday’s rainout, including those for the scheduled Bark in the Park event, may exchange them for tickets comparable in price and location for any regular season Mets home game prior to Sept. 27, 2011, subject to availability. The Bark in the Park event has been canceled and will not be made up this season.

Poor dogs.  I bet the Mets were just afraid of Dog Banner Day.  We’ll get them next year.

Odd Mets related comment from the Yankees

(I feel bad for the dogs who bought tickets for tonight)

I was reading this article in the Times which explains the marketing of the Mets heritage nights.  All makes sense, people seem to enjoy them, I don’t think anyone gets annoyed at them.

Then I got to the last line..

The Yankees do not hold ethnic theme nights, said Alice McGillion, a team spokeswoman, because “their philosophy is that everyone is welcome to every game.”

Is that a dig?  Is Alice just speaking casually?  Am I not welcome at Korean night?
